The rise of VFP Voyager FC In April this year Voyager Software Ltd were proud to sponsor the Azzurri/REC ‘National Recruiter Fives’ 5-a-side football tournament which saw 72 teams competing for Glory in 3 regional events...

Congratulations go out to the regional winners, GCS Ltd for the South, Fusion People for the Midlands, and Progressive Recruitment for the Northern Event. Congratulations also go out to Fish Recruitment who won a prize of a free deployment of our new “Industrial” recruitment package. Fish recruitment based in Rugby, specialise primarily in the Commercial, Driving and Industrial sectors and are one of only a handful of agencies to be awarded the de poel Gold Standard Agency award.  

For the first time, Voyager put a competitive football team together entering a team into the Southern and Midlands regions of the tournament, with a number of staff from Support and Development wanting to get involved.

At the southern region, which was played at Woking FC (next year to be at White Hart Lane), the team was taught a true footballing lesson as we finished the group stage with only 1 point on the board, and a lot of red faces.  We managed to score a few times but we didn’t have the fitness to keep up with the other teams.

For the Midlands region, played at Birmingham City FC, the Voyager team undertook a number of changes and with this new team we finished 2nd in the group stage unbeaten, then went onto the semi-final of the cup where we ran out of steam.

We have now entered the original team into a local 5-a-side league, and with the experience we gain from this we hope to perform much better and we look forward to competing in next year’s Azzurri tournament.
